When you visit our website and use our services, you trust us with your personal information. We take your privacy very seriously. In this privacy notice, we describe our privacy policy. We seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. We hope you take some time to read through it carefully, as it is important. If there are any terms in this privacy policy that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our Sites and events.

This privacy policy applies to all information collected through our "Sites" (such as www.journeyofgrace.church, our Facebook page, and our YouTube channel) and our "Events" (any related services, ministries, or events). We do not currently offer a mobile application.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us, such as name, email address, phone number, and payment information if you give or register online.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for an event, sign up for a ministry, express an interest in learning more about us, fill out a form on our Sites (such as a connection card or next step form), or otherwise contact us.

The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Sites, the choices you make, and the ministries and features you use. The personal information we collect can include the following:

Name and Contact Data. We collect your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, and other similar contact data.
Payment Data. We collect data necessary to process a donation or event registration if you give or register online, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number) and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All payment data is stored by our payment processor, Planning Center, and you should review its privacy policy and contact it directly with any questions about your payment information.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information, such as IP address and browser and device characteristics, is collected automatically when you visit our Sites.

We collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Sites. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, and information about how and when you use our Sites. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Sites and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Like many churches, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.

Information collected through our Apps

In Short: We do not currently offer a mobile application.

Information collected from other sources

In Short: We may receive limited information from ministry partners and from the platforms we use, such as Planning Center and Facebook.

We may obtain information about you from other sources, such as Planning Center (for event registrations and connection cards), our social media platforms (such as Facebook and YouTube), and other third parties with whom we partner to serve our congregation. Examples of information we receive from other sources include social media profile information that you choose to make public and contact information you provide through third-party forms.

2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate church interests, the fulfillment of our commitments to you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.

We use personal information collected via our Sites for a variety of church purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate church interests ("Church Purposes"), in order to enter into or perform a commitment with you ("Contractual"), with your consent ("Consent"), and/or for compliance with our legal obligations ("Legal Reasons"). We indicate the specific processing grounds we rely on next to each purpose listed below.

We use the information we collect or receive:

To communicate with you about ministries and events with your Consent. We may use your information to send you updates about ministries, events, and services you have expressed interest in.
To send administrative information to you for Church Purposes and/or Legal Reasons. We may use your personal information to send you information about changes to our policies or to respond to your requests.
To process donations and event registrations for Contractual reasons. We may use your information to process donations, event registrations, and purchases made through the Sites.
To share ministry content for our Church Purposes. We may use your information to share content and information (and work with third parties who do so) tailored to your interests and/or location and to measure its effectiveness.
To request feedback for our Church Purposes. We may use your information to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our Sites.
To protect our Sites for Legal Reasons. We may use your information as part of our efforts to keep our Sites safe and secure (for example, for fraud monitoring and prevention).
To enforce our terms, conditions, and policies for Church Purposes and/or for Legal Reasons.
For other Church Purposes. We may use your information for other Church Purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, measuring the effectiveness of our outreach, and evaluating and improving our Sites, ministries, and your experience.

3. WILL YOUR INFORMATION BE SHARED WITH ANYONE?

In Short: We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to protect your rights, or to fulfill church obligations. We never sell your personal information.

We only share and disclose your information in the following situations:

Compliance with Laws. We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena.
Vital Interests and Legal Rights. We may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, and illegal activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
Church Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of church assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our church to another church.
With your Consent. We may disclose your personal information for any other purpose with your consent.

4. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.

5. DO WE USE GOOGLE MAPS OR GOOGLE FONTS?

In Short: We do not embed Google Maps on our website. We link out to Google Maps for directions, and we load fonts from Google Fonts.

Our website does not use the Google Maps APIs. The map on our Visit page is provided by OpenStreetMap through the Leaflet library and does not send your location to Google. Where we link out to Google Maps for directions (such as a "Directions" button), Google's own Privacy Policy applies. Our site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, and Google may receive your IP address and browser information when those fonts load.

6. DO WE OFFER SOCIAL MEDIA LOGINS?

In Short: No. We do not currently offer the ability to register or log in to our website using a social media account.

We do not currently offer social media logins, and we do not collect social media login data. If you contact us through our Facebook page or YouTube channel, the privacy policies of those platforms apply to your activity on them. We recommend that you review their privacy policies to understand how they collect, use, and share your personal information.

7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this policy will require us to keep your personal information for longer than our ongoing ministry relationship with you lasts.

When we have no ongoing legitimate church need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, please also remember that we cannot guarantee that the internet itself is 100% secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Sites is at your own risk. You should only access the services within a secure environment.

9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 13 years of age, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Our children's and youth ministries collect information only from parents and guardians. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us at office@journeyofgrace.church, and we will promptly delete such data from our records.

10. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: You may ask to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time.

As of August 2026, the state of Arizona has not enacted a comprehensive consumer data privacy law (a bill, SB 1815, was introduced in the Arizona legislature in 2026). While 20 U.S. states now have comprehensive consumer privacy laws in effect, most of them exempt nonprofit organizations such as ours, and none of them applies directly to our church as of August 2026. We nonetheless voluntarily offer the following rights to everyone who interacts with us:

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
You may request that we delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal or accounting requirements to keep certain records.
We never sell your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that regard.

For visitors in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants similar rights of access, correction, erasure, and portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in section 13 below, and we will respond within 30 days.

Events and Ministry Participation

Journey of Grace Church of the Nazarene may ask visitors to provide information when registering for events or signing up for ministries. The information you provide is used only to serve you and to communicate about the event or ministry you registered for. We do not run contests, giveaways, or sweepstakes, and we never sell your information.

You will then be removed from our email list; however, we will still need to send you service-related emails that are necessary for the administration of your registrations or donations.

11. DO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: Yes. If you are a resident of California, you are granted specific rights regarding access to your personal information.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine The Light" law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please submit your request in writing to us using the contact information provided below.

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), generally applies to businesses and does not directly apply to nonprofit organizations such as ours. We do not sell personal information.

If you are under 18 years of age and reside in California, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the Sites. To request removal of such data, please contact us using the contact information provided below. We will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on the Sites, but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from our systems.
